Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Calibration
If you don't already have a vehicle equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), chances are that your next vehicle will be equipped with it.
ADAS are technological features developed to automate, adapt, and enhance vehicle technology, assist drivers by increasing safety and reaction times, through early warning and automated systems. ADAS are proven to reduce road fatalities by minimizing human error.
Most ADAS operate, among other things, using a camera located on the windshield behind the rear view mirror. When you replace your windshield, it is important to have your camera recalibrated by experts according to the manufacturer’s standards to ensure proper functionality.
You may also require ADAS recalibration for the following services:
Following a wheel realignment
Change of the car’s suspension
If the camera has become disconnected or reconnected
You receive an error message on your dashboard
Features your vehicle may have which require ADAS calibration include:
Lane Departure Warning
This feature detects the lane lines and then warns the driver if the vehicle begins to move out of its lane.
Lane Keep Assist
This system corrects a lane change that is not signaled by the driver. This system brings the vehicle back into its designated lines.
Forward Collision Alert/Forward Collision Warning
This system detects the distance between the driver's vehicle and the vehicle in front of them. When the driver approaches too close to the vehicle in front of them, the system will notify the driver by a visual or audible warning to prevent a collision.
Active Brake Assist
This feature is a type of Autonomous Emergency Braking system. It functions like the Forward Collision Alert but will also automatically engage the brakes if needed.
Collision Mitigation Braking System
This system acts in the same way as the Forward Collision Alert. In addition to notifying the driver, it will apply the brakes automatically if the driver does not do so following the alert.
High Beam Assist/High Beam Sensor
This feature detects the light of on coming vehicles and will automatically switch from high beam to low beam while passing vehicles going in the opposite direction or while closing in on vehicles going in the same direction.
Auto Headlamp Control
This feature automatically adjusts the strength and direction of the light depending on vehicle speed and driving conditions.
Traffic Sign Recognition
This feature allows your vehicle to recognize traffic signs, such as signs for speed limits, or stop signs. This helps the driver be aware of information that may otherwise have been missed.
Adaptive Cruise Control
This feature maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead by automatically adjusting vehicle speed while using cruise control.
Our technicians have the knowledge, expertise, and equipment necessary to recalibrate ADAS on most vehicles.
